To ensure maximum benefit from your chair simply follow these AJ Products top tips:

•   When using a chair for the first time you should adjust the supports to suit your individual weight and proportions.

•   We recommend that you leave the chair unlocked to make full use of the chair's range of movement.

•   Lumbar support is essential to reduce strain on your back. Your bottom should be pressed against the back of your chair, and there
    should be a support that causes your lower back to arch slightly so that you don’t slump forward in the chair as you tire over time.

•   It is important to maintain an open posture whilst working at a computer. To ensure this, a seat angle tipped slightly forward is ideal.

•   Do not keep your feet constantly flat on the floor, move them around often to help with circulation. Use a foot rest if you have
    one and try not to cross your ankles.

•   Position your hips so that they are slightly higher than your knees while your feet are flat on the floor.

•   Your gaze should be aimed at the centre of your computer screen.

Head and neck

To prevent head and neck
stiffness, utilise a head rest.

Arms

The height of the arm rests
should allow the shoulders
and elbows to be relaxed.

Back

The back rest should allow a
natural ‘S’ shape of the spinal
column and will prevent slumping
and reduce spinal and pelvic stress.

Body

The angle between seat and
back rest should be between
90 – 105 degrees.

Thighs

The thighs should run parallel
to the floor and be fully supported.

Legs

The cushion should be rounded to
allow free movement and bending.

Feet

Should comfortably rest on the floor.
