Product information

This ground wire is designed to help keep you safe from static discharge when used with the appropriate ESD matting and grounding accessories. The 4.5 metre cord leaves you plenty of flexibility to move around while still connected to the grounding point. It features: one dual stud with 10 mm female stud and 10 mm male stud (the female stud connects to the mat and the male stud to a coil cord creating a common point); one 10 mm female stud for connection to a 10 mm male stud on the Earth plug; and one 4-mm banana socket for connection to coil cords, etc. (note that our coil cord uses a 10 mm female stud and does not have a corresponding banana plug).

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can pose a serious risk in environments with a lot of electrical equipment and is of particular concern to electronics manufacturing businesses. ESD not only exposes workers to static shock but it can also permanently damage sensitive electronical components. Creating an ESD protected area (EPA) mitigates these hazards by preventing the build-up of static charge through the grounding of both workers and conductive materials. To create a complete EPA, combine static-dissipative mats with grounding wristbands or heel straps. For maximum performance your mat should be used with a grounding wire and bonding plug.
